Hi All!
It has been a super busy couple of months! Ian is up and running - and into everything he can get his hands on. He took his first few steps on his Dad's birthday (March 16th) and quickly ramped up his speed over the last few weeks to full-on running, soon he will be outrunning his Mom and Dad. His cousin Matthew is now fully mobile himself - crawling and cruising everywhere - so its really fun when the two of them get together.

Ian had his first Easter (well at least the first one he was able to participate in) this year. He had lots of fun opening his present from Great-Grandma Berberich.

We set him up an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter morning. We weren't quite sure how he would do - and if he would get the idea he was supposed to be finding hidden objects - but fortunately he got on quite quickly.

Probably the most exciting event from the last two months was Ian's First Birthday! He woke up on the morning of his Birthday (April 12th) to balloons on his chair and presents all over the table. He had an awesome birthday. First Ian and Mommy went to Mom and Tot swim at the Y - one of Ian's most favorite activities. Then he had a much-needed nap followed by lunch out with Matthew, Auntie Tif, Nanny, Auntie Laura and Mom and Dad. After lunch Ian and Matthew (and their parents) went to Adventures on Wonderland - a really fun play place for toddlers. Ian and Matthew had a blast! In the evening Ian opened his presents and enjoyed his very first birthday cake! What an awesome first birthday!

A couple of days after his real birthday, we had Ian's First Birthday party. Mom may have gone a little overboard with the decorations and preparation - but you only turn one once, right?? We had a great time at the party - it was really fun to see the three little ones play together (Ian, Matthew and Cora - our new neighbour!). Ian got some wonderful gifts that he would like to thank everyone for.

Shortly after Ian's birthday party, the three of us moved to Windsor for a month. Mommy had to be there for work, and Ian and Daddy came along to keep her company. While we were there we took a trip over the border to Detroit to visit the zoo. It was a pretty fun day!

Well, Ian is no longer a baby - he is now officially a toddler and growing up so fast! I have loved my first year as a mom - it has been more fun and more rewarding than I ever thought it would be and I'm looking forward to another wonderful year with my little man.
