Happy (almost) 3 months Ian!

Hi All,

Well, it has been a very busy three weeks since we last posted.  We have moved cities (and countries), we moved into a new house, I started my new job, Ian has started having Daddy and Nanny look after him during the day, and we also went to Storybook Gardens for Ian's (early) three month trip.

Ian holding his rattle - and trying to eat it.

We are loving our new house, and the whole family is starting to really feel at home in it.  We still have a bit of unpacking and some decorating to do, but we are mostly settled and enjoying having the extra space.

Ian also had his first Canada Day.  We went over to Nanny and Poppy's to play in the pool and enjoy the company.

Ian dressed for the occasion, thanks to Grandnan.

Ian also now has a Big Boy Crib set up in his new room - he has yet to actually sleep in it yet though.  I think he would probably take to it just fine, but Mommy is having a hard time with moving him more than an arms reach away at night.

More of Ian's room.

Just in case we forgot whose room it was.
We also had our second annual Easter Race (or Summer Race in this case) run by Uncle Gary and Aunt Tif.  It was tons of fun!  Dave, me, Ian, Grandnan and Savannah all competed together.  We didn't end up doing so well, but we had lots of fun trying to win - and there's always next year!

Since I started my residency this week, its been pretty tough being away from Ian all day (and all night when I'm on call!), but Dave and Nanny have been splitting the childcare responsibilities during the day, and have been doing an excellent job!  Having such great people at home looking after Ian makes being away from him a little bit easier.

Ian also started using his stroller without the help of his carseat this week - pretty exciting!  AND he went for a walk with Mommy, Daddy and Lola to get his very first library card and library books.  Yay!  Although I think that I may have been more excited about the library than Ian was...

For his 3 month birthday, we took Ian to Storybook Gardens.  He seemed to have a great time - but it was very different from the last time Dave and I remember being there.

I think we all enjoyed Ian's three month birthday.  Things that are upcoming in his fourth month (according to my baby book reference): Ian will start to develop depth perception, he will start to see colours, he may start teething, and he will become ticklish :) - I'm so excited for that last one!

Ian hanging out - demonstrating his new developing depth perception by more accurately grabbing for rings.

One other thing that Ian will do in his fourth month: meet his new cousin for the first time!  Yay!  Only 20 days to go, Gary and Tif :)

Love Amanda, David and Ian
