Ian is 2 months Old!

Hi All,

I can hardly believe it, but Ian is 2 months old already!  Dave and I were lying on the bed with Ian today and we were telling him that two months and 1 day ago, he was still inside Mommy's belly, which is also very hard to believe since it seems like he's already such a huge part of our lives. 

After many, many attempts, and possibly making Ian completely terrified of the camera flash, I did manage to get some great pictures of our little man smiling.  He really loves when I make vibrating sounds with my mouth - there is something about that noise that just seems hilarious to him.  Here are some shy, sweet smiles:

And here he is going absolutely nuts while playing with his Dad.  He really loves Dave and all Dave really has to do to is look at him and he just lights right up!

Ian is also getting much better and holding his head up during tummy time - he even crawled a little bit while he was doing tummy time on Dave.  I think he just finds Daddy's beard really entertaining and wanted to get a better look. 

He really does love checking himself out in the mirror...

He has also started to interact more with his toys.  He learned to grab and hold onto his rattle and some of his ring toys when they are hanging in front of his face this week.  While his dad was watching him this morning, he seemed like he was trying to rip the legs off the hanging giraffe on his playmat he was pulling at it so hard!

 He also seems to be having more fun with his playmat, batting at the hanging toys and kicking the elephant ear on the floor of the mat.  He also loves kicking his ball toys.  Click on the link below to check out a video of the Future Soccer Star at work:

As a sort of 2 month birthday treat, we took Ian to the zoo, along with some friends of Dave's from work and their two little ones, Jagger and Lorelei, who are 2.5 years and 8 mos old respectively.  He was sleeping for a good amount of the experience, but we did have him out to see the penguins and the tigers!

A really cute family of Ring-Tailed Lemurs we saw at the zoo.

When we got home from the zoo Ian was in a super playful mood, and he practiced sitting by himself while leaning on the couch (with Mommy right there with him of course).

I know this one is almost the same as the one above - but they were both so cute I couldn't decide which of the two to post, so I went with both of them!

Ian is growing so much every day, both in size and in what he can do - and I am enjoying every minute of it.  I already get a little teary-eyed thinking about leaving him during the day once I start my residency in a few weeks, but I'm sure he will have lots of fun with Nanny while I'm gone. 

Also, Ian wants to congratulate Daddy and his soccer team, Clockwork Orange, for winning their soccer championship today - Ian was there in orange to cheer them on, and I think he was a definite good luck charm!
