Happy 8 months Ian!

Hi All,

I can hardly believe my little man is 8 months old already!  It is just such a joy every day to watch him grow and learn and just be his cute little self.  He is such a happy, social little guy - really takes after his Dad.

Probably the biggest development over the last few weeks is how much more mobile Ian has become.  He can now get around pretty good by with a combination of moves that he has developed.  He has mastered the 'pivot' the 'roll' and is starting to work on his 'army crawling' techniques.  Unfortunately this also means that Dave and I have to keep a much closer watch on our little mover - and its probably about time that we seriously consider baby-proofing our house.

He has also started to pull himself up on the furniture, and can stand reasonably well while holding on - he has even tried to let go a few times and will stand for a few seconds on his own before collapsing.  He is fearless when it comes to trying new things - he just dives right in and assumes that someone will be there to catch him if he needs.

Standing!
He has also developed a love for dogs - getting pretty excited every time he sees Lola or Riley.  Unfortunately, the dogs seem a little unsure of Ian.  Lola actually takes off running when she sees Ian coming.

Yum! Giraffe!

Dressed up in my formal wear.

For Ian's 7 month treat we took him to see the Santa Claus parade.  Unfortunately the parade was an hour and a half late getting started, and Ian got pretty cold and tired waiting for it to come by, so we ended up leaving before the parade even started!  Oh well - we will try again next year!

Waiting for the parade to start.
We had the opportunity to wish Great Grandma Berberich a happy 80th birthday this past weekend at her surprise birthday party in Waterloo.  Ian got to wear his fancy Christmas suit and hang out with his Great Grandma and his other relatives.

Ian has also started to become very affectionate - he is great at giving hugs now and is the sweetest little snuggle bug.

For Ian's 8 month birthday we took him to go see Santa at the mall.  He is starting to get a little unsure of strangers, and really did not seem to like being on Santa's lap.  We did manage to get one decent photo once he started to settle down a bit.

Happy holidays!
